Northern Botanicals

Northern Botanicals was founded in November 2020 by my sister, Amanda Scripnick. She creates handmade wreaths, garlands, and swags. Through this small business venture, I discovered my passion for supporting artists like Amanda.

I encouraged Amanda to sell her creations, and she agreed under the condition that I handle the administrative tasks, allowing her to focus on her craft. Within two weeks, I established a branded presence on Facebook and Instagram. I designed a logo, business cards, a stamp, stickers, and various designs for Facebook headers, profile photos, Instagram Stories, and IGTV. I worked with Amanda to develop online marketing strategies for her budding business. Together, we created systems to manage our inventory and orders.

I developed and designed a Winter 2020 Catalogue & Guide featuring six collections designed by Amanda, along with several ad campaigns. Before long, the business grew, and we needed to expand.

By January 2021, I had designed digital order forms and eventually launched nobotimmins.com, an e-commerce shop. As the business grew, we worked on developing relationships with other local artisans, sourced products for the online store, and began offering dried wedding florals and handmade dried floral products like wreaths. In the winter, she now offers many private, community, and online workshops and sells her products through her online store and at local markets. Northern Botanicals has been featured in Chatelaine's list of The Best Christmas Wreaths of 2023. In 2024, she was nominated for Small Business of the Year at the Timmins Chamber of Commerce Nova Awards.

  • Expanded customer base by acquiring packaging for shipping solutions
